After you download your Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 update, you may have problems opening your attachments in your email program, Outlook Express.  The problem is from a default security feature in Outlook Express that sets the program to "Not Open Harmful Attachments".  To resolve this issue, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open your Outlook Express program.

  2. Click on ToolsFrom the drop down menu, choose Options.

  3. When the options windows opens, look at the top tabs for Security.

In the Security window, there will be an option to not allow harmful attachments to be opened. Uncheck this item, click apply, and ok.


All of your previously received email items will still have the attachments, and you will not be able to view them.
